Abstract
Aims to promote cooperation and collaboration in preparing students who are information literate. Objectives are to introduce participants to the concept of information literacy; explain the value of information literacy skills and to identify possibilities for, and the benefits of, cooperation and collaboration in developing students' information literacy skills. The workshop introduced participants to the concept of information literacy. Its value in the context of the school curriculum was discussed with examples from the Jamaican situation. Some of the issues that need to be considered in order to facilitate the teaching of information literacy skills as an integral part of the curriculum were explored.....
